About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will be an integral member of our Mental Health and Addictions Services team, providing high-quality nursing care across the Inpatient unit and Sub-Acute unit. You’ll work alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team to undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, develop and implement care plans, administer treatments, and support service users and their whānau throughout their recovery journey.

You’ll build strong therapeutic relationships, contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning, and play a vital role in delivering person-centred, culturally responsive care. About the Team/Service/ Location

Tumanako is a 29-bed purpose-built inpatient mental health unit that provides care and support for adults aged 18 years and over from across Te Tai Tokerau. Our multidisciplinary team works closely together to create a supportive, recovery-focused environment that promotes the wellbeing, independence and recovery of our tāngata whaiora. We are committed to delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented care that promotes wellbeing, dignity, and positive outcomes for our service users.

About you

As a Registered Nurse, you will be passionate about mental health nursing and committed to supporting people at all stages of their recovery journey.

• New Zealand registered nurse with a current practising certificate
• Experience working within a mental health setting and a commitment to delivery recovery-focused care
• Strong communication, therapeutic engagement, and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and build effective relationships with service users and whānau
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, culturally safe practice, and continuous professional development
