We are excited to announce an internal opportunity for the position of Registered Nurse – Triage (District Nursing). This position is open exclusively to Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora staff only. About the Role
As a Registered Nurse – Triage (District Nursing), you will be responsible for triaging all referrals to the district nursing service across Waikato District, with the aim of improving quality, efficiency and standardisation of referral acceptance into the service. Key responsibilities:
- Being the single point of contact for referrers, as weil as receiving and triaging referrals into the service
- Liaise with the referrer to improve quality of referral information and work closely with the team at the community referral centre
- Liaise with District Nursing teams and CNMs across the district
- Review current process and systems and work to improve efficiencies
- Collect data and provide regular reports

About you
As a Registered Nurse – Triage (District Nursing) you will be at the forefront of change, to help streamline care delivery.
- You will preferably have experience as a District Nurse, within the Waikato District
- You will have strong communication and networking skills, and be able to have challenging conversations as well as being able to educate and coach
- You will have the confidence to be adaptable and agile, and preferably some experience in managing and supporting change
- Good to excellent computer skills, including Excel, will be important to support data collection and reporting
