About the Role

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality surgical care across elective surgery and acute obstetric services. Working within a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide safe, patient-centred care in a fast-paced theatre environment while contributing to positive patient experiences and outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a service that is continuing to expand its surgical offerings to better meet the needs of the community. You will work across a variety of surgical procedures, including day surgery, elective obstetrics, and acute obstetric surgery, while developing your skills within a professional and close-knit team committed to excellence in care.

About the Team/Service/ Location

At Waitakere Surgical Unit, we're dedicated to providing high-quality surgical services, including elective surgery and acute obstetrics. Our Operating Theatre Unit currently operates Monday to Friday, 0700 to 1700, delivering day surgery and elective obstetric procedures, alongside a 24-hour, 7-day acute obstetric surgery service. We are also continuing to expand our services to provide a broader range of surgical options to our community.

Our team is made up of experienced and dedicated professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care within a warm, professional, and supportive environment.

About you

As an experienced Theatre Nurse, you will bring a positive and dynamic approach to patient care and teamwork within a busy clinical setting.

You will also bring:

  • A minimum of 2 years of theatre nursing experience is essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, focused, and dedicated to delivering quality patient care
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and achieve the best possible health outcomes
  • Well-organised, flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
