Our brand new two-storey, Manaaki Hōhonu building is constructed at the eastern end of the Waitākere Hospital campus. This new building is connected to the existing hospital via link bridges to the Ground and Lower Ground floors. It is the biggest capital investment on the West Auckland site in 20 years, increasing inpatient capacity and enabling care closer to home.

About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Charge Nurse Manager to lead our brand-new ward in an exciting and rewarding opportunity. This key leadership role will provide strong clinical and operational direction within a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-performing environment.
As Charge Nurse Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving excellence in patient care, leading workforce management, and advancing quality improvement initiatives across the ward. Working in partnership with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centred care while cultivating a supportive, collaborative, and positive team culture.
Supported by a skilled and committed workforce, you will have the opportunity to influence service development, promote best practice, and make a lasting difference to health outcomes for our diverse community.

Our brand-new ward will play a crucial role in supporting timely, high-quality patient care and enhancing health outcomes across the region.
About you
As an experienced senior nurse leader, you will bring:
- At least 5 years’ post-registration nursing experience
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (or working towards completion)
- Proven leadership capability, ideally with experience at Charge Nurse level
- Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and support staff
- A demonstrated commitment to patient-centred care, quality improvement, and contemporary nursing practice
- You will combine clinical credibility with sound organisational skills and a collaborative leadership style, fostering a supportive, family-friendly team environment while driving service excellence and continuous improvement.
