About the role: 

Manukau Surgery Centre (MSC) is a 'purpose built' facility providing both Day and Inpatient surgery with a mix of all surgical specialities. With 10 operating theatres and 78 ward beds, MSC is an extremely busy clinical setting that will provide a challenge.

If you are an experienced motivated Registered Nurse who enjoys a challenge and wants to work in a dynamic, innovative supportive team environment, then come to PACU/Pre-operative department. 

You will be working with a friendly professional team. This role requires you to have PACU or pre-assessment experience with strong assessment skills and to provide immediate post-op care. This includes airway and acute pain management, reflecting post anaesthetic care principles whilst maintaining a safe environment. You will be caring for both adult and paediatric patients.

Hours of work will be various 8 hour shifts we operate between the hours of 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday.

Essential requirements:

• New Zealand Registered Nurse with Current Annual Practicing Certificate
• Minimum of 2 years recent surgical nursing experience
• Experience with Paediatrics

Desired:

• 1 year Post Anaesthetic Care Unit experience
