Our Paediatric Perioperative services has an opportunity for an experienced ORL Theatre Nurse to join our ORL, Head & Neck, Plastics and Dental Perioperative Team
About the Team
Our Paediatric Operating Rooms at Starship Child Health provides Acute Emergency Trauma and elective Surgical procedures in the paediatric specialties of General, Complex Neonatal, Thoracic, Urology, Endoscopy, Oncology, ORL, head and Neck, Dental, Spinal, Orthopaedics, Sarcoma, Plastics and cardiac.
This exciting role is needed to expand our Paediatric and Neonatal ORL services. Starship Theatres ORL team provide specialist perioperative care to all Tamariki of New Zealand this includes critical and complex airway surgeries, emergency airway interventions, complex Congenital ORL surgery, Head and neck, Plastics, Cleft palate, maxillofacial facial and Dental surgeries and Ear and Nose operations.
About you
As the ideal person for this role, you will:
- Either have or be eligible for registration with NZ Nursing Council.
- Be an experienced Perioperative Nurse with 2+ years of Operating Room experience with an extensive range of Theatre Nursing skills. Expert knowledge and experience in ORL essential
- Strong clinical judgement and ability to remain calm in high pressured situations
- Have well-developed communication, critical thinking skills and a commitment to Mokopuna and Whanau centred care
- Commitment to improving Maori health outcomes and embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Ability to develop collaborative working partnerships across a multidisciplinary team
- Have a strong commitment to quality healthcare
