About the Role
Te Whatu Ora Taranaki is seeking the services of a Clinic Nurse in our Medical Outpatients Department at Taranaki Base Hospital. You would be working as part of a dynamic and patient focused team, responsible for:
· Delivering Phototherapy treatments for Dermatology patients
· Pre clinic vital signs and ECG’s if required
· FibroScan of the liver
· Assisting our Dermatologists with excisions and biopsies
· Close working relationship with Consultants, Registrars and Senior Nurses
· Excellent working knowledge of hospital systems including computer literacy.
· General duties to maintain clinic rooms – including setting up with documentation and any other equipment required for the clinic to run smoothly.
· General ordering of supplies and any other tasks required.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The Medical Outpatient Clinic Nurse plays an important role with ensuring that patients are ready to be seen by the specialist Clinician prior to their appointment, developing excellent working relationships with colleagues and creating a safe and welcoming environment for patients and visitors. This position also takes the lead in delivering Phototherapy treatments and maintaining clinical databases to ensure patients get the right treatments, medications or tests at the appropriate time.
The Medical Outpatient Department is located at Taranaki Base Hospital and runs from Monday to Friday. Clinics are held by Clinicians, Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists in various specialities such as Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Infectious Diseases and General Medicine.
We are looking to employ a Registered Nurse at 0.8FTE, we are open to splitting this FTE to smaller amounts if the right candidates are found and all required shifts can be covered.

About you
As an RN you will need the following:
· 2 years minimum hospital experience
· Excellent communication and ability to work independently to a high standard
· Commitment to ongoing learning
· Dermatology or minor surgical procedure experience is an advantage but not essential
· Flexibility in working hours and days
· Computer literacy and strong organisation skills
· A ‘Can do’ attitude to working in a team
· Proactive approach to working environments
