About the Role

Meade Clinical Centre – outpatient nursing team is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse who is committed to quality patient focused care, with a strong commitment to patient education. This position is primarily in Ophthalmology clinic nursing team although; you must have a willingness to work in other clinics across our outpatient service. This is to align with a requirement for a flexible and responsive workforce.

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the NZNO Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Nursing and Midwifery collective agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), shift allowances on weekends, professional development and wellness support.

About the Team/Service

The Meade Clinical Centre (MCC) is comprised of a diverse range of specialty outpatient clinics, and services up to 900 patient appointments per day. This position offers flexibility across a variety of clinics, and opportunities to build nursing knowledge & experience in a number of areas – working with senior nurses and specialists supporting investigations & minor procedures. Although, we are currently looking to strengthen our nursing team in ophthalmology / Eye clinic, there is a requirement to be orientated and familiar with other specialty clinics. Our busy multi-specialty outpatient department offers attractive hours of work, a supportive environment, education and development opportunities across all of outpatient clinics.

 

About you

The Registered Nurse we are looking for will demonstrate:

  • commitment to delivering compassionate whanau focused care;
  • excellent time management and able to use their initiative;
  • advanced interpersonal and communication skills;
  • work positively in a team environment;
  • willingness to work in a variety of specialties;
  • an interest in seeking professional development opportunities;
  • sound nursing knowledge & experience in surgical & medical nursing is required;
  • experience in ophthalmology and the ability to learn new technical skills is important, although orientation and training will be provided;
  • a minimum of 3 year’s post registration experience within a Health New Zealand hospital/acute care setting is required for this position.
