About the Role
Join a vibrant, supportive maternity team where every day offers meaningful connection, care, and professional growth. We are offering up to 4 -months fixed term opportunity for skilled Registered Nurses to support wāhine, pepi, and whānau during one of life’s most important journeys, working 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week). Working within a secondary care maternity unit, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including LMCs, midwives, obstetricians, and lactation consultants to deliver holistic care during the during surgical birth (caesarean section) and provide postnatal care.

Based in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, our Maternity Unit is based at Whakatāne Hospital. We provide holistic, whānau-centred care in a setting that promotes connection, calm, and cultural safety. You will be joining a passionate and professional team that values kindness, teamwork, and high standards of care.

About You
We are looking for a team-oriented Registered Nurse who is confident in maternity care and passionate about supporting māmā and pepi.
What you will bring:
- Current NZ Nursing Registration and current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Recent maternity-related nursing experience
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A commitment to culturally safe, whānau-centred care
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts across a 24/7 service
