About the Role

We have an opportunity for a proficient/expert RN to work within the elective service team to support patients and family prepare for their surgery/ procedure. The role includes working alongside the CNS/SCNs triaging and preparing patients for surgery. The role supports a range of surgical procedures. This role includes triaging, phone assessments with patients and whanau, and communicating with the wider health care team to ensure the patient is prepared and ready for their procedure.

About you

To be successful in this role, you need:

  • Registered Nurse with minimum of 2 years’ experience in a surgical speciality
  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • A current practicing certificate
  • Completion of a Professional Development and Recognition Programme at proficient and/or above
  • A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability, flexibility and agility
