About the Role
As a Registered Nurse / Anaesthetic Technician (scrub), you will be part of a highly skilled perioperative team delivering high-quality elective surgical care across the Elective Surgery Centre (ESC) and Tōtara Haumaru at North Shore Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in modern facilities, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties while contributing to safe, efficient, and patient-centred care.
In this role, you will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and the wider theatre team, ensuring best practice standards are upheld throughout the perioperative journey.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Located at North Shore Hospital, the Elective Surgery Centre and Tōtara Haumaru together operate 12 modern operating theatres, delivering elective surgical services across multiple specialties. ESC consists of 4 theatres with a strong orthopaedic focus and is recognised as the centre that pioneered robotic knee arthroplasties in New Zealand.
Tōtara Haumaru is a state-of-the-art facility that opened in July 2024, featuring 8 operating theatres and supporting a broad range of specialties including general surgery, gynaecology, laparoscopic, urology, and robotic surgery. Overlooking Lake Pupuke and close to the Waitematā Harbour and stunning beaches, this location offers an exceptional work-life lifestyle.

About you
To be considered we need to follow:
- RCpN, RGON, BHSC, BHSc (perioperative practice) or equivalent
- Current New Zealand annual practising certificate
- Relevant operating theatre experience
- Demonstrated interest and commitment to a career pathway in the theatre scrub role
- Understanding of perioperative practice and the scrub role within surgical teams
- A patient-focused approach aligned with our value that “Everyone matters”
