Registered Nurse, ACC Clinical Case Management
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.
About the Role
· 1 FTE (80 hours per fortnight)
The primary function of this permanent post is to use various data sources in the Hospital to identify potential Treatment Injury (TI) cases and complete claims processes with, and on behalf of, patients. A TI is an injury that is caused as a result of receiving treatment from a health professional and is covered by ACC.
The work focusses on often complex and sensitive cases and requires excellent clinical knowledge regarding treatment pathways, expertise in Waitematā processes and IT systems and maintaining credible relationships with clinicians and patients. ACC criteria must be applied to prepare claims, so an aptitude for detective-like investigation and policy application is crucial, underpinned by rigorous analysis and persistence. Successful outcomes support both our patients and the District
About the Team/Service/ Location
You will be one of three staff working collaboratively on TI within our Waitematā ACC Unit but will be autonomous in the daily management of your work. This role requires a well-balanced person with excellent communication skills, an aptitude for forensic-type investigation, a solid nursing background, proficiency in Microsoft Office products and a commitment to advocating for patients.
This role will be based with the ACC Unit at North Shore Hospital.
