Clinical Nurse Specialist, Orthopaedics, fixed term
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.
About the Role
· 2 x Fixed term or secondment opportunity – 12 months
· Full time and/or part time will be considered
These roles will enable new models of care in management of post operative orthopaedic patient follow-ups by introducing Clinical Nurse Specialist follow up clinics. The successful applicants will be experienced clinical nurse specialists with experience in the management of orthopaedic patients.
In this role you will coordinate between specialist Orthopaedics and support services to optimise quality and effective post-operative care for Orthopaedic patients, with a core focus on the post-op follow up of acute patients.
To align with departmental and national ESPI 2 objectives, these roles will divert a cohort of post operative patients away from SMO and RMO clinics and free up clinic space to increase planned care FSA delivery. The CNSs, supported by the clinic staff in the outpatient department, will facilitate cast changes, dressings and patient care, alongside managing ACC paperwork and ordering radiology.
These roles are fixed term roles due to limited funding and secondment can be considered for the right candidate.
