About the Role

Support rangatahi aged 13 to 18 and their whānau through meaningful and recovery focused mental health care. As a Registered Health Professional within the Tauranga Adolescent Mental Health team, this role contributes to assessment, therapeutic intervention, and care coordination for young people experiencing complex mental health challenges.

Working as a Case Manager, you will complete comprehensive therapeutic assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care for rangatahi within the service. The role includes working alongside whānau, schools, and community services to ensure young people receive the right support at the right time. Clinical practice draws on evidence based therapeutic models including neuro affirming and trauma informed approaches that recognise the wider context of each person’s life.

This position offers a varied and rewarding clinical scope where you will support recovery, resilience, and wellbeing for rangatahi while contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Tauranga Adolescent Mental Health team is part of CAMHS and works closely with rangatahi, whānau, schools, and community partners to deliver holistic care. Based in Tauranga – a vibrant coastal city known for its golden beaches and relaxed lifestyle, the team provides a supportive, learning-focused environment that encourages professional growth and collaboration. The service continues to evolve to meet the needs of its community and is deeply committed to empowering its kaimahi to achieve their full potential.

About You

You will be a compassionate and adaptable Registered Health Professional who is committed to improving the wellbeing of rangatahi and their whānau. Your practice reflects a clam and empathetic approach, particularly when working alongside your people and families experiencing complex or acute challenges. Mental Health must be included in your Scope of Practice.

What you will bring:

  • Current registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., NZNC, Occupational Therapy Board, Social Work Registrations Board, or Psychotherapy registration).
  • Annual Practicing Certificate with Mental Health in scope of practice
  • Experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, including acute and crisis presentations.
  • Strong risk assessment, care planning, and therapeutic intervention skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a whānau and community-centred approach.
