About the Role
As a Recruitment Consultant, you will provide end ‑ to ‑ end recruitment support to hiring managers across the organisation, ensuring a high ‑ quality, responsive and best ‑ practice recruitment service.
You’ll work closely with service leaders and teams to understand workforce needs, develop recruitment strategies, and manage the full recruitment lifecycle - from advertising through to offer and onboarding. This includes coaching hiring managers on best practice, coordinating recruitment processes, supporting candidate care, and ensuring recruitment activities are efficient, compliant and aligned with organisational goals.
You will also contribute to continuous improvement by developing recruitment tools, managing talent pools, enhancing employer branding, and supporting system and process improvements across the recruitment function.

About the Team/Service/ Location
You will be part of the Recruitment team at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier Memorial Hospital, working within a collaborative recruitment team that supports services across the organisation. The role works closely with hiring managers, HR advisors, finance, communications and external partners to deliver effective workforce solutions.

About you
You are a proactive and relationship‑focused recruitment professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, people‑centric environment. You will have:
- Experience managing end ‑ to ‑ end recruitment processes in a large organisation or recruitment agency
- Strong knowledge of recruitment best practice, sourcing strategies and selection techniques
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship ‑ building skills
- Ability to coach and influence hiring managers
- Strong organisational and time ‑ management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity
- Confidence using recruitment systems and reporting tools (e.g. ATS platforms)
- Strong communication skills and a positive, solution ‑ focused approach
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable workforce outcomes
Desired:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or related field
- Experience in the health sector or complex organisational environment
- Knowledge of employment legislation and HR practices
