About the Role
If you are passionate about building the capability of teams, able to influence and facilitate change to embed the new direction for mental health and addiction services in Tairāwhiti, and seeking a full-time role within Te Ara Maioha at Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti (Gisborne Hospital) that values your knowledge of mental health and addictions and offers opportunities for new learning in a dynamic, evolving environment, this position may be ideal for you.
In this role, you will lead quality improvement activities to support evidence‑based, whānau‑centred care; initiate, lead and implement service development plans and clinical quality projects; work in partnership with Te Ara Maioha Leadership, Clinical Leadership, Quality teams, clinicians and kaimahi to embed our Tairāwhiti way of working; develop and maintain systems to measure and respond to tangata whaiora satisfaction and feedback—including complaints, critical incidents and Feedback Informed Treatment; take a lead role in upholding Health and Disability Standards through robust policy frameworks, audit, accreditation and compliance processes; and actively work to eliminate inequitable health outcomes, particularly for Māori, tangata whaiora and their whānau.

About you
We are looking for someone with the following traits:
- High level of agility and a flexible mind-set
- Excellent facilitative and relationship management skills
- Well developed influencing skills across strategic and operational audiences
- A proven commitment of Quality Improvement and Assurance
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Practices in a manner that is consistent with Te Tiriti of Waitangi, and addresses inequity especially for Maori
- Knowledge of Te Reo advantageous
