Pharmacy Assistant, Procurement and Supply

- Play a key role in provision of medicine supply services throughout Waikato hospital.

About the Role
Day to day you will be undertaking inventory management, unpacking and receiving of stock, picking, packing and delivery of medicines and a range of other general procurement tasks. Light to medium lifting of boxes and some pushing of trolleys and parcel cages is required.
This is a 40 hours per week permanent position where you will work Monday to Friday, usually between the hours of 0800 – 1700. [Please note these hours are subject to change]
Key responsibilities:
- Inventory management of medicines, including ordering, unpacking, receipting and putting away medicines
- Delivery of medicines to clinical areas
- General administration duties and support of pharmacy services, including our on-site community pharmacy
The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the Allied, Public Health & Technical Workers agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), professional development and wellness support.

About the Service
Providing pharmacy services to Waikato hospital, rural hospitals and tertiary advisory and support services to the Te Manawa Taki region, the Pharmacy Service is key to the effective operation of the district health service. From pharmaceutical supply, medicines safety and clinical services to provision of an outpatient pharmacy, a comprehensive clinical trials service and operation of a compounding suite, the pharmacy does it all. Pharmacy services that are consistently of a high standard are important to our team.
About you
The experience and professional requirements needed in the role are:
- Previous recent NZ hospital pharmacy experience
- NCEA level 2 (pass in English and Maths) or equivalent
- Competence in the Microsoft Office suite of programmes
- Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Fit and strong
