About the Role
Te Whatu Ora Waikato is looking for a Coordinator within the Payroll Department. This is an exciting role to work alongside a Payroll Team to deliver payroll services for Te Whatu Ora Waikato employees. Reporting to the Payroll Team Lead, you will work to ensure accurate and timely payments to all employees. This includes ensuring compliance with policies, employment agreements, and relevant legislation.
Ideally you will be proactive and have a strong payroll background and experience working in a large team within a high and complex payroll environment. You will have strong communication skills capable of dealing with complex payroll queries and working to meet specific payroll deadlines.
Required skills include a strong technical ability to understand complex payroll rules and legislation, and practical application of these rules and regulations. Ability to work well in a team and desire to become part of a positive working culture is essential. You must be highly organised with excellent and have the ability to manage your time effectively.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering timely and accurate payroll payments to all Te Whatu Ora Waikato staff
- Providing mentoring and support to other payroll staff
- Ensuring Payroll Compliance with relevant payroll rules and employment legislation
- Dealing with high and complex queries
- Contributing to a positive workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion and equity
- Supporting the business processes feeding into Payroll and to ensure continuous quality improvement

About you
We are looking for a payroll superstar that is looking to advance their payroll career.
- You should have at least 3-5 years of payroll experience
- Ideally you would have some experience leading a small team
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to relate with people from different walks of life
- PeopleSoft (HRIS) experience preferred
