About the Role
We are looking for an experienced NZ Registered Physiotherapist to work as a static in Taiao Ora, Ward 51, our Intergrated stroke and neurology Unit. This role is based at Auckland City Hospital and is a permanent, part time position 0.6FTE (24hours/week).
As a service, we are passionate about best practice, innovation and high-quality patient centred care. Within this role you will:
- Manage a dynamic caseload which includes providing a comprehensive service to our acute stroke, neurological and rehabilitation patients
- Be supported by senior clinicians, physiotherapy practice supervisor and allied health consultant, and work alongside other static and rotational therapists
- Play an active role in quality improvement, staff and service development
- Motivate, guide and develop junior staff and physiotherapy students
- Work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary multicultural environment
- Participate in our weekend and on-call roster
Regardless of your experience, you will receive a thorough orientation and be well supported in your role. You will receive training in outpatient specific documentation and reporting requirements
About the Team
Our team is made up of passionate and supportive Physiotherapists motivated to improve the quality of life and health outcomes of the communities we serve. Our team on Taiao Ora is made up of a 10 Physiotherapists- A Practice supervisor, 2 Senior physiotherapists, 5 static physiotherapists and 2 rotational. You will also work closely with other Allied Health disciplines and nursing colleagues within the service. Our wider team consists of 93 FTE, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

About you
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- At Least 3 years post-graduate experience including significant clinical experience in neurorehabilitation, stroke and neurology.
- Experience supervising junior staff and physiotherapy students
- A flexible, pro-active and can-do approach
- Strong clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to provide culturally safe care
