About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and manage our healthcare security services. Reporting to the Head of Security, you will take operational responsibility for delivering high-quality security services, overseeing day-to-day operations, and driving initiatives that support our Prevention Strategy.
This is a full-time role working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday and based at Middlemore Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Security Command Centre, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Oversee security services across the Counties Manukau District for staff, patients, and visitors.
- Ensure service delivery aligns with CM District core values, promoting safety, trust, and excellence.
- Strategically deploy security resources across the organisation based on demand.
- Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve equitable outcomes.
About you:
You are a proactive healthcare leader who thrives in complex environments, leads with empathy, and translates vision into action. You bring:
- Operational leadership experience in incident management, including the Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) or equivalent.
- 5+ years in a front-line leadership role, ideally managing a security command centre.
- Experience in compliance, regulation, or law enforcement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong judgement, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Knowledge of security systems, including CCTV, Gallagher, and access control.
