Are you a dynamic and experienced leader ready to take on a pivotal role in our Emergency Medicine department? We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Operations Manager to join our team and lead our Emergency Medicine services at Health New Zealand Waitemata.

About the Role

As the Operations Manager for Emergency Medicine (EM), you will play a crucial role in managing medical staff in collaboration with the Clinical Director. You will drive strategic development across the Emergency Departments at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals, working closely with Nurse Unit Managers and the Clinical Director. This role provides leadership and development for the Emergency Medicine Service, ensuring its effectiveness and efficiency through strategic planning, financial management, and people management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborative Leadership: Partner with the Clinical Director and Nurse Unit Managers to enhance the Emergency Medicine Service and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Strategic Development: Guide the strategic planning and growth of the Emergency Medicine Service, ensuring alignment with Health New Zealand's strategies and organisational goals.
  • Financial Management: Oversee financial planning and budgeting, identifying opportunities to optimise the use of resources and enhance service delivery.
  • People Management: Foster a supportive and collaborative environment for all staff, with a focus on working alongside the Clinical Director to grow and develop the medical workforce.

  • You possess strong financial acumen and experience in financial planning and budgeting.
  • You are skilled in strategic planning and have a history of driving successful initiatives.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate your team.
  • You are committed to continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.
