Occupational Therapy- Community Services

Location: Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth 

Service: Occupational Therapy Permanent Community / Rehabilitation position

Contract: Permanent 0.5FTE (40 Hours per fortnight)

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role 

Our Community Occupational Therapy team has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join. The community team provides a broad range of services to clients with predominately physical disabilities throughout Taranaki.

As a community Occupational therapist, you will need-

  • Appropriate clinical experience working with people with disabilities.
  • The ability to provide efficient, effective intervention for community clients using compensatory approach, there are some rehabilitation services connected to this role.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the funding processes for Enable NZ and ACC.
  • Preferably be an Accredited Assessor and registered Housing Assessor, if not eager to learn.
  • Good with Computer skill and ability to follow processes.
  • A commitment to quality service delivery.

You will be joining a friendly team that is diverse in skills and experience, a team that welcomes collaboration, and that values the contribution of each team member. Our team provides rehabilitation care across acute and non-acute inpatient wards, and we’re happy to support other teams to ensure their success.
