About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, skilled, and innovative Occupational Therapist to work on our Older Adult Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation ward and combined Integrated stroke unit (ISU) as part of our inpatient services at Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora – Waitematā.

This is a full time, permanent role, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, delivering assessment, targeted rehabilitation interventions and coordinated discharge planning. Your contribution will be key in helping achieve positive health outcomes through a collaborative, patient-centred approach.

Te Whatu Ora – Waitematā is leading the way in the Northland region in digital innovation with electronic patient notes, e-prescribing and e-vitals and have strong links with our community and outpatient services.

Our inpatient Rehabilitation/ISU team of Occupational therapists work with patients in the acute and rehab phase of Stroke, and with our Older adult population who are typically requiring rehabilitation post medical, orthopaedic or surgical events. We are a close-knit team who are dedicated to providing a high standard of care to our West Auckland community.

About you

• New Zealand Professional Registration and valid current APC
• Have a passion to provide high quality, patient centred, evidence based interventions.
• Be committed to team work and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration
• Have an ability to be flexible and adaptable within a busy, fast-paced work environment
• Strong clinical assessment skills, great communication and fast thinking.
• A minimum of 2 years post graduate inpatient experience in rehabilitation and/or Stroke.
