About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our well established and dynamic Kidz First Emergency Department team, providing acute paediatric care to infants, children, and young people from across South Auckland.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a leading children’s emergency service, delivering advanced clinical care while contributing to high-quality, whanau-centred services and ongoing service development.
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide advanced clinical assessment and management within the emergency department, working both autonomously and collaboratively with emergency physicians, nurses, specialists, and allied health professionals. You will play a key role in delivering timely, patient-centred care and improving access and flow within the department.
You will be supported to lead and develop innovative models of care, utilising your advanced assessment and diagnostic skills to formulate clinical decisions and management plans.
The role also provides opportunities to contribute to:

About you
Are you an experienced senior nurse looking for an exciting opportunity to practice at an advanced level within a high-performing emergency team? To be successful in this role you will need:
- Registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- A current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
- Extensive experience in paediatric or emergency nursing (minimum 5 years)
- Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to equity and improving outcomes for tamariki and whanau
- Experience providing coaching, leadership, or mentoring to colleagues
