About the Team/Service/ Location

This role is based at Waitakere Hospital.

In this advanced practice role, you will provide high quality, patient-centred healthcare services to adult patients presenting to the Emergency Department, exercising high level of clinical autonomy while working in partnership with a multidisciplinary team.

You will utilise advanced nursing knowledge and clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with a range of acute conditions. Practising at a senior level, you will contribute to clinical leadership, service development, and continuous quality improvement, supporting safe, effective, and timely care in a fast-paced emergency environment.

The Emergency Department at Waitakere Hospital is a high-performing, multidisciplinary service providing acute care to a diverse community. The team is committed to excellence, innovation, and ongoing improvement in emergency care delivery.

About You

You will be an experienced and resilient clinician with a passion for advancing emergency care. You will also have:

• Registration as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate
• Nurse Practitioner as approved and endorsed by the Nursing Council of New Zealand
• A minimum of 5 years’ acute nursing experience, including contemporary Emergency Department experience
• A master’s degree in nursing, including a prescribing practicum
• A calm, adaptable approach with a strong “can-do” attitude and commitment to service improvement
