  • We are excited to be seeking a permanent 0.9 FTE Nurse Manager (NM) for our small Central Hawke’s Bay (CHB) rural hospital and health centre in Tamatea, Te Matau a Māui.
  • This pivotal leadership role ensures a safe, evidence-based practice environment that supports service requirements and delivers high - quality patient care.

About the Role

The Nurse Manager position holds responsibility for the smooth co - ordination and operational management of the Central Hawke’s Bay Health Centre and the multiple services it provides to the Tamatea community. This role includes the management of Nursing, Health Care Associates, Administration & Allied health staff as well as the Facility management.

Working closely with Operational Management, Nurse Managers and multidisciplinary leaders, you will contribute to the Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora vision and ensure our model of care becomes a reality across services.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Located around 50km from Hawke’s Bay Hospital in Hastings, the Central Hawke’s Bay Health Centre provides health care to the community with 6 inpatient beds, procedure room, outpatient department, Medical Day Unit and community teams. There is a well embedded integrated model of care on site with a General Practice and other services, including visiting services, located in the same facility.

The service strongly reflects the values of Te Mauri o Rongo – emphasising safety, teamwork, leadership, cultural responsiveness and a supportive environment for both staff and patients.

There are large pockets of need in the community, so your understanding of the healthcare and cultural needs of Māori, and the ability to put this at the centre of all you do, is vital to this role.
