About the Role
This new permanent full-time role has been envisioned to deliver appropriate Allied Health Professional care in our early supported discharge NET service. You will support a broad range of patients, specifically those recovering from stroke and other neurological health conditions.
This position also allows for working closely with our inpatient to in-reach/discharge plan and be a vital link for patients that are close to the end of their acute hospital stay.
There could be opportunities to work in acute stroke care or within the hospital team environment. Working 1.0FTE (40 hours per week) across a Monday – Sunday roster (weekend cover will be considered), you will be work across the rehab and community services supported by the Occupational Therapy Team Lead.
You will also collaborate with Allied Health clinical Leads and senior medical and nursing staff to deliver timely, patient-focused care that enhances outcomes and supports safe transition planning.
About the Team/Service/Location
The role is open to all Allied Health Professionals holding an Annual Practicing Certificate and is based in the acute OT team as part of our in-reaching early support discharge model of care.

About You
You are an experienced Allied Health Professional with a calm presence, strong clinical reasoning, and a passion for supporting patients in acute and rehabilitation settings. You will enjoy working as part of an interdisciplinary team and take pride in contributing to new service development and innovation in care delivery. Confidence, cultural safety, and compassion are essential to thrive in this role.
What you will bring:
- Current registration with the appropriate New Zealand Allied Health Professional regulatory board, along with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate
- Experience in acute hospital and rehabilitation work
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt within fast-paced environments
- A drive to improve service delivery and patient outcomes through Allied Health integration
- Cultural competence and a commitment to equity across diverse populations
