- We are recruiting 2 exceptional leaders as the Midwife Managers for the Labour and Birthing Suite and Women’s Assessment Unit at Auckland City Hospital Te Toka Tumai.

The Opportunity
We are a quaternary maternity hospital that also includes a primary birthing unit. Approximately 6000 pēpi are born here per year.
The Women’s Assessment Unit kaimahi do about 250 assessment each week and incorporates the Day Assessment Unit, the acute gynaecology and early pregnancy services, along with a dedicated bereavement area.
We are looking for two midwives to work together across these acute services with an individual portfolio responsibility for one of these areas.
As the Midwife Manager, you would be responsible for the day-to-day running of each unit, working collaboratively with the medical and multidisciplinary teams. The position includes staff management, resource allocation, clinical guidance and maintaining standards of practice. This role also involves risk management, quality improvement, and fostering a supportive environment for both kaimahi and whānau.

About you
You will:
- Have a postgraduate qualification or be working towards one
- Have at least 5 years midwifery post-registration experience across the scope
- Be committed to removing barriers to access to healthcare, creating equity for whānau
- Understand and be committed to implementing the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the service.
