  • Waikato Hospital
  • Fixed term for 12 months – 16 hours per week
  • Make a system‑level impact on safe staffing, quality care, and midwifery excellence across the Waikato

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.

We are seeking an experienced midwife to step into the role of Midwife CCDM Co‑ordinator, leading the Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM) programme for maternity across the Waikato District.  This is a unique opportunity to influence safe staffing, strengthen data integrity, and support high‑quality, equitable maternity care at a district level.

This is not a clinical role and not a management role - it is a specialist leadership position focused on CCDM, safe staffing, quality improvement, and TrendCare expertise.

About the role

As the Midwife CCDM Co‑ordinator, you will:

  • Lead CCDM and safe staffing activities for maternity across the district.
  • Support data integrity, improvement, and evaluation that drive FTE calculations, including in areas without TrendCare.
  • Provide expert leadership in TrendCare processes and support wards and services to use data effectively.
  • Drive quality initiatives that improve care, staff wellbeing, and clinical excellence.
  • Build strong relationships across wards, services, union partners, and the Safe Staffing Healthy Workplaces (SSHW) Unit.
  • Contribute to a health system that upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi and advances equitable outcomes.

You will work closely with the District Chief Midwife and play a key role in ensuring safe, sustainable staffing and high‑quality maternity services.
