An exciting opportunity has become available to work as Mental Health Triage Clinician within the Rotorua Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (iCAMHS).

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.

About the Role

As the iCAMHS Triage Clinician you will play a crucial role as the first point of clinical decision making for new referrals. You will support tamariki, rangatahi, young people and their whānau through their healing journey, with a strong focus on Te Ao Māori models of care.

Your work includes early brief interventions, gather information to inform choice appointments, guiding allocation decisions, and ensuring safe transitions to other services where appropriate. You will also help embed CAPA (Choice and Partnership Approach) across the Rotorua and Southern Lakes iCAMHS teams. Strengthening our service entry pathway is a key priority—improving access, supporting timely engagement, and ensuring equity of outcomes.

Our Lakes Mental Health & Addiction co design model of care, Te Ara Tauwhirotanga, promotes compassionate and person centred care. We value meaningful work, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement. If you are driven to make a positive impact for our communities, we would love to hear from you.
