About the Role
The role is based at Waikato Hospital and is critical in allowing the Operations Manager and their team to get on with the leadership and delivery of high quality health outcomes by taking on board and executing their administrative workload. You will be accountable for ensuring that medical workforce rosters are developed and administered efficiently, and support the timely recruitment of staff into the services. You’ll also provide day-to-day operational support in the form of coordinating medical recruitment, credentialing for all medical staff in the directorate managing expense reports and a range of other tasks.

About the Team/Service
Waikato Hospital is a teaching hospital and the major tertiary referral centre providing specialised and emergency healthcare for the Waikato and Te Manawi Taki or Midlands area, with a catchment population of 900,000 people. It is the only major hospital in New Zealand to offer all surgical specialties on one campus and is the major trauma hospital for the central North Island. The cardiology department has state-of the-art facilities.
We are based in Hamilton, the third largest city in the North Island. It is 1½ hours from Auckland via a new expressway, and offers a great lifestyle. As the largest employer in Hamilton, there is a varied and approachable social network based around the hospital. It is within easy reach of both west coast surfing and east coast leisure beaches. About you
- You’ll be an experienced office manager or project coordinator who’s used to working in a complex environment
- You’ll be capable of ensuring high standards of data quality and accuracy in relation to financial and payroll data
You’ll also have:
- An exacting attention to detail.
- A strong customer service drive, being willing to help or problem solve wherever required.
- An understanding of a healthcare environment
- A proactive approach and willingness to take on new tasks or challenges
- The ability to effectively manage conflicting demands on your time and make decisions in pressure situations
- A strong understanding of the entire Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in writing and managing rosters an advantage
