About the Role

This is an exciting new addition to our established oncology department in Hastings, working as a medical oncology Specialty Clinical Nurse.

 This position offers the opportunity to work directly with specific populations of oncology patients, providing assessment, care, and education while contributing to the development of essential pathways, protocols, and guidelines that shape cancer service and help promote enhance health outcomes.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team is a collaborative, patient focused team providing outpatient SACT (systemic Anti-cancer Therapy) including supportive treatments and an outpatient clinic with onsite medical oncologists, a dedicated team of nurses and the cancer support staff, working side by side in a supportive environment to deliver compassionate, high – quality care to our Hawkes bay population.

About you

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic senior registered nurse with expertise in working within the cancer setting.

The successful Nurse will have proven sound clinical knowledge of cancer care, including within the delivery of SACT, be IV designated and CVAD certified.

You will need to have proven experience of working well within a multidisciplinary team, be a dynamic thinker and a good problem solver.

We are looking for someone who leads by example. The successful nurse will be expected to have or being working towards post graduate diploma and willing to undertake further study throughout their time in this role.
