Permanent, full time (80 hours per fortnight)

About the Role

The role Clinical Quality Governance Risk & Compliance Manager provides support to the hospital on matters of Privacy, Clinical Governance, Quality & Risk. The role is based in Rotorua and reports to the Group Director Operations – Lakes. The successful appointee will work in partnership within Rotorua & Taupo Hospital as well as the Infection Prevention Control Team, the Safe Guarding Team that covers Family Violence Intervention Programme and the Gateway programme, and the Clinical Records and Clinical Coding teams. This is an excellent opportunity working within two highly functional hospitals as well as representing Lakes within the local communities.

• Support Lakes' vision, values and plans through quality, risk and patient safety systems
• Understand change management processes
• Work with all teams to support systemic changes in services to improve quality and patient safety across Lakes service
• Work with all staff to facilitate, support, oversee and monitor quality improvement programmes
• Facilitate effective management and continuing improvement 
• Lead delivery of a robust risk management service
• Manage and drive the delivery and maintenance of accreditation and certification 
• Drive Clinical Governance and quality performance - which is consistent the National Clinical Governance Framework In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nurse, Chief Midwife , Chief Allied Scientific and Technical and Service Manager
• Participate as a member of Lakes District Leadership Team and as the leader of the Quality & Risk Team in Leadership of the organisation.
• Attend the monthly Clinical Governance and Quality Executive Committee and drives actions around deliverables as appropriate. 
• Manage the performance and outcomes of the Infection Prevention Control Team, the Safe Guarding Team that covers Family Violence Intervention Programme and the Gateway programme and the Clinical Records and Clinical Coding teams.
• Support the planning for industrial actions and incident management 
• Participate in the service manager on call roster
• Lead with the support of Health NZ National Privacy Team, privacy advice, education and release of information requests.
  Maximise the quality and contributions of individuals and teams to achieve the organisation’s vision, purpose and goals.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with people at all levels within the public and private sectors, related industry and community interest groups and the wider national and international communities.

About you

• A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.
• Relevant tertiary level clinical qualification pertinent to the role
• Demonstrates senior leadership experience
• Demonstrates understanding and/or experience in quality, safety and/or risks management in a hospital environment
• Competent understanding and experience with clinical governance
• Project management experience
• Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
• Pronunciation of Te Reo Māori words and names
• Demonstrate a commitment to a quality and safety philosophy
• Conversant and knowledgeable on health related legislative requirements
• Robust knowledge of quality in the health care context.
• Strong written and numeracy skills
• Ability to analyse reports and interpret data correctly to create quality solutions
• Knowledge and experience of the NZ health system (desired)
• Existing knowledge and experience with accreditation and certification processes (desired)
