Administrator / Typist - PRIMHIS

Community Mental Health & Addictions Service,  Rotorua 

Permanent, Part-time (20 hrs/week) 

Monday to Friday 0800 to 1630

We have a permanent position available in our Admin team at Rotorua Lakes Community Mental Health & Addictions Service (CMHAS) providing administration support across the service.  This role will be primarily located within our PRIMHIS team which provides brief talking therapies to people aged 15 upwards.

About the Role

The Mental Health Administrators support the community clinicians who provide comprehensive care to patients experiencing moderate to severe mental illness and/or significant addiction problems. We are looking for a motivated individual to provide high quality reception, administrative and clinical typing support in the PRIMHIS, CMHAS team based in Rotorua.   This is an ideal position for someone who is seeking to work school hours, 4 hours per day Monday to Friday.

The role requires flexibility, ability to work under pressure of deadlines, maintaining quality outputs with minimal supervision.  This position will also require the ability to multitask, have methodical work practices and a high level of accuracy.

You will

  • provide administrative & reception duties
  • support clinicians to enable service continuity
  • organise administrative elements of clinical duties, e.g. filing, ordering stock, checking IMI supply
  • work with a team of admin and clinicians
  • follow the principles of the Te Ara Tauwhirotanga Model of Care – Pathways that lead us to act with kindness

About you

We are looking for an active, friendly person with great customer engagement skills, a broad range of experience, and enjoy working as part of a busy team. If you are an enthusiastic team player with a good sense of humour and a can-do attitude we welcome your application. Demonstrated competence of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word and Outlook); data entry skills and typing skills essential. 

  • Have exceptional time management and prioritisation skills
  • Have fast and accurate keyboard skills
  • Be adaptable and flexible in work practices
  • Have exceptional data entry skills
  • Be able to work under pressure and stick to timeframes 
  • Have at least 3-5yrs experience in administrative functions
