About the Role
You will be working under the direction and supervision of a Registered nurse assisting with aids to daily living. Providing a clean, safe, and tidy environment for patients and staff as well as maintaining stock levels and distributing supplies, linen and equipment throughout the ward as required.
You will be expected to be available to work rotating rostered shifts including night shifts.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintaining a safe environment – upholding infection control standards and ensuring patient areas are clean, organised, and well-equipped.
- Documentation – making sure to accurately record care provided and report any changes in patient conditions to the Registered Nurse on the ward.

About the Team/Service
M4 is a 14 bedded general surgery ward, consisting of a small team of RN and HCA’s. We provide care to patients with various surgical conditions from breast surgery, biliary system conditions, bowel obstructions, elective bowel surgery utilising ERAS principles and so forth through the pre and post journey as well as managing symptoms conservatively.
About you
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- To be successful to in this role you must have either NZ Citizenship, Residency or a current open work visa
- Part time roles available could be ideal for undergraduate nursing students
- Excellent communication skills
- Be a dedicated team player
- Computer skills would be beneficial.
