About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and adaptable Health Care Assistant to join our small, dynamic team in our busy rural Emergency Department and Outpatient clinics. This is a great opportunity to work across a wide scope of practice, support a diverse community, and be part of a team that thrives on collaboration, flexibility, and whakawhanaungatanga.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Registered Nurses in patient care
  • Support patients with personal care and activities of daily living
  • Provide a clean, safe and tidy environment for patients and staff
  • Maintain stock levels and distribute supplies, linens, and equipment throughout the ward
  • Provide Health Care Assistant support to our numerous outpatient clinics.

Our Emergency Department provides urgent care to a broad population across the South Waikato. You’ll be part of a small, supportive team where no two days are the same, and your scope of practice is wide and meaningful.

What we’re looking For (Required Skills and Experience)

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Must be able to work rostered shifts, which includes nights and weekends
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
