About the Role

Our Health Care Assistants support the healthcare teams and service activities in wards/units ensuring service delivery is always maintained.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Rima Ward is our general medical ward at North Shore Hospital with a special focus on respiratory including non-invasive ventilation, pleural drains and acute tracheostomy.

We provide a supportive environment where you can make a meaningful impact. Working in close collaboration with our Registered Nurses, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care to our patients.

About you

To ensure we maintain our quality of care and support we require a Health Care Assistant who has the following qualities:

  • Good command of oral and written English
  • Knowledge and basic computer skills
  • Able to work under direction and seeks guidance and supervision
  • Good communication skills and customer service practices
  • Committed to excellence in service delivery
  • A Minimum of NZQA Level 3 National Certificate or similar
  • Current CPR / First Aid Certificate
  • Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant
  • New Zealand Resident of Citizenship
