About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant (HCA) within the Integrated Operations Centre, you will provide clinical, technical, and administrative support to nursing and multidisciplinary teams, helping to ensure the smooth delivery of patient care services. Working under the direction of Registered Nurses, you will assist with patient care activities, support patient comfort and wellbeing, maintain equipment and supplies, and contribute to a safe and efficient healthcare environment.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The Integrated Operations Centre plays a key role in supporting patient flow and healthcare operations across Hawke's Bay Hospital. Our team is committed to delivering high quality, patient focused services while working collaboratively with nursing, medical, allied health, and administration teams.
Based at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Hastings, you will enjoy working in a supportive environment while experiencing the lifestyle benefits that Hawke's Bay has to offer.

About you
As a Health Care Assistant, you will bring:
- A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance, be actively working towards this qualification, or be willing to commence study shortly after employment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and follow direction appropriately.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- A caring, respectful, and patient-centred approach with an understanding of cultural diversity and the needs of patients and whānau.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of patient management systems such as ECA.
- Previous healthcare experience.
- An enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn and develop.
