About the Role
Our Health Care Assistants support the healthcare teams and service activities in wards/units ensuring service delivery is always maintained.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Muriwai Ward is dedicated to the care and health of older adults at Waitakere Hospital. We serve as an acute assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation unit for older patients dealing with a variety of clinical conditions and chronic co-morbidities.
We provide a supportive environment where you can make a meaningful impact. Working in close collaboration with our Registered Nurses, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional care to our patients.
About you
To ensure we maintain our quality of care and support we require a Health Care Assistant who has the following qualities:
- Good command of oral and written English
- Knowledge and basic computer skills
- Able to work under direction and seeks guidance and supervision
- Good communication skills and customer service practices
- Committed to excellence in service delivery
- A Minimum of NZQA Level 3 National Certificate or similar
- Current CPR / First Aid Certificate
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Health Care Assistant
- New Zealand Residency or Citizenship
