- We have casual position available for a Health Care Assistant (HCA) with the Community Nursing teams.

About the Role
The role of the HCA within the Community Nursing Service is to assist the Registered Nursing staff to ensure the efficient use of their time to support the provision of patient care in the community setting. The tasks include assisting with the management and delivery of supplies both to the patient homes and at the bases, assisting nurses and providing approved patient care tasks. The work is varied, rewarding and interesting. If you have not previously worked in the community environment, this a wonderful opportunity to support our community to understand and independently manage their health needs.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The wider Community Nursing Service teams consist of the District Nursing teams in Napier and Hastings, the Continence, Ostomy, Wound, Community Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Better Breathing Hawkes Bay (providing pulmonary and Heart failure rehabilitation) teams, as well as Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Health Care Assistants, administration and Kaiawhina support. The services are based at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital and Napier Health Centre. Referrals are received from the primary and secondary and tertiary health sectors.

- Previous experience working in a health care setting
- Full unendorsed drivers’ licence
- Computer skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Previous experience working within a team
