We are seeking a Consultant General Surgeon with a broad scope of practice including endoscopy, and basic vascular, urological, breast and paediatric surgery, to support the needs of our community. You will find Tairawhiti District Health a unique environment where you will encounter a diverse range of conditions, treatment procedures and cultural practices. The successful applicant will enjoy the opportunity to practice in a stimulating, non-metropolitan, small coastal hospital setting.

To be considered for this role applicants must:
- Be vocationally registered or eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ): and
- Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or an equivalent qualification recognised by both the Medical Council of New Zealand and the relevant Conjoint Committee (or equivalent authority) for Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy
- Current capability to perform Breast Surgery and / or the willingness to develop this skill
