About the Role
As an RN in our busy and dynamic cardiology ward, you’ll provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a range of acute and chronic cardiac conditions. Working closely with cardiologists, nurse specialists, and allied health professionals, you’ll help support patients through investigations, interventions, recovery, and ongoing education for heart health.
You will be responsible for:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a cardiology setting
- Monitoring patients undergoing cardiac procedures, treatments, and telemetry
- Supporting patients and whānau with information, education, and reassurance
- Collaborating effectively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, person-centred care
- Contributing to a supportive and learning-focused team culture
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Cardiology Ward is a specialised unit that provides high-quality care to patients with a wide range of acute and chronic cardiac conditions. Our team includes experienced registered nurses, cardiac nurse specialists, cardiologists, and allied health professionals who work collaboratively to deliver evidence-based, patient-centred care.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate
- Recent acute care experience, preferably in cardiology or a related field
- Strong clinical assessment and prioritisation skills
- A compassionate, team-oriented approach with a commitment to high standards of care
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, professional presence under pressure
- A desire to grow your knowledge in cardiology nursing and contribute to service development
- An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to delivering culturally safe care
