About the Role

As a Family Therapist within the Eating Disorders Service, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist, evidence-based therapies to tamariki, rangatahi, and their whānau. You’ll provide interventions such as FBT, CBT-e, MANTRA, and DBT, supporting recovery through inclusive, culturally responsive care. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex cases, contribute to service development, and act as a resource for the wider Child, Adolescent & Family Services (CAFS) team.

Based in Hastings and covering the wider Hawke’s Bay region, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people and their families.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Ngā Harakeke Mai Rongokako - Child, Adolescent & Family Services (CAFS) is a dedicated team supporting mental health and wellbeing for young people across Hawke’s Bay. The Eating Disorders Service works collaboratively with paediatric and community services to provide holistic, family-centred care.

About you

As a Family Therapist, you will bring:

  • A relevant professional registration with a current practising certificate.
  • Clinical experience in eating disorder assessment and treatment.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families, with a special interest in family therapy.
  • Applied knowledge of psychotherapeutic models and mental health frameworks.
  • A full NZ driver’s licence and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity.
