Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Health New Zealand Taranaki is a leader in electronic Medication Management with a well-resourced, dedicated team that works alongside the pharmacy service to optimise medication safety. This service also plays a key role in providing eMM services to the Ta Manawa Taki (Midland) region, including support services for the regional instance of ePharmacy
The Service Manager role will provide professional & strategic leadership for Health New Zealand Taranaki eMM services, to ensure the delivery of a consistent high, quality clinical service that includes managing
- the eMM workplan
- the eMM team by way of workforce support, training, mentoring, as well as
- providing eMM expertise to strategic and governance groups
This role ensures the clinical safety, strategic direction and governance of the eMM service and medication management across the Taranaki District.
You will be a valued member of the Allied Health leadership team, providing expert strategic leadership in partnership with other Allied Health Professional Leaders and service leads across our organisation.

Moū - About you
As a New Zealand Registered clinician (Doctor, Nurse, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician) you will have relevant operational/management skills and leadership experience, as well as outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
In addition to extensive experience in electronic Medicines management, you will have experience working and collaborating with other professions and services in order to deliver new initiatives and optimise patient outcomes. You will be the type of person who leads by example and creates a team environment where people can thrive through high levels of engagement.
The Service Manager for eMM will have an opportunity to shape and support a number of exciting initiatives within the eMM & Pharmacy services, including:
The development of new models of care and service delivery for medication management in collaboration with the Professional Lead, Pharmacy Services
Implementation of ePharmacy auto-profiling to increase patient safety and return value to resource constrained pharmacy staff and nurses on the floor.
Progress the journey to closed loop medication management
Upgrade to the latest version of various systems
The development of a risk of medication harm prioritisation tool and a medication safety dashboard
