About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dental Officer to join our busy Hospital & Specialist Dentistry team in Auckland.
Te Toka Tumai Auckland’s Regional Hospital & Specialist Dentistry (HSD) service is located across multiple sites - Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre, Middlemore Hospital, Waitakere Hospital, Starship Children’s Hospital and Buckland Road Community Dental Clinic as well as in private provider facilities that are under a lease arrangement.
Joining us in this role you will be working as part of a clinical team of dentists and dental specialists providing hospital-based secondary and tertiary level hospital oral health services for patients living in the greater Auckland area. The focus of your role is providing dental care for patients of all ages in outpatient and ‘virtual’ clinics and operating room settings and provide individualised ‘prevention focused’ dental care to assigned patients including; undertaking initial assessments (FSA), development of diagnoses, problem lists and management plans, provide clinical care, undertake recall and review, as required.
This is your chance to join a well-supported multi-disciplinary team and there will be opportunities for you to be involved in research projects. You will also be responsible to provide advice and training to support staff.
This is a part time ,6-month Fixed term (sabbatical leave cover) role working 35 hours per week, starting July 2026
About you | Important Skills
Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand; and where possible, should demonstrate relevant post-graduate training and experience in Paediatric Dentistry. You will ideally have minimum 2 years post graduate clinical experience and enjoy working in a team environment. This position includes the treatment of child and adolescent patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, under General Anaesthesia, Sedation and Local Anaesthesia.
