Dental Assistant – Rotorua

Permanent, 0.8 fte (32 hours per week)

An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a Dental Assistant and join our passionate and multi-disciplinary team at Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora, Lakes, Community Oral Health Service, based in Rotorua.

About the Role

The role is part time (permanent), 32 hours on a weekly basis. We can provide on the job training and ongoing professional development for the successful person. You will gain essential skills and knowledge in dental practice, infection control and administrative systems.

Chairside Dental Assistance dental procedures 

  • Sterilisation and Infection Control
  • Preparation of dental materials and dental products
  • Managing stock levels
  • Administration procedures and processes
  • High customer service and professional dental care to tamariki and whanau
  • Permanent Part Time (32hrs weekly)

About you

You should have:

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred
  • Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in computer software applications
  • Ability to multi-task and be self-motivated
