The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and patient-focused Core Clinician to join our Allied Health team within ARHOP at Counties Manukau District.

This role provides an opportunity to deliver high-quality, safe and effective clinical care within an interdisciplinary team. You will manage an agreed clinical caseload, working in partnership with patients, whaanau and other health professionals to assess needs, establish goals, develop individualised care plans and support positive health outcomes.

The majority of your time will be focused on direct clinical and professional activity. You will use sound clinical reasoning and evidence-informed practice to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, while ensuring patients and whaanau are actively involved in decisions about their care. You will also support education, self-management, discharge and referral processes to ensure continuity of care across the health system.

About the Role

As a Core Clinician, you will be responsible for providing patient and whaanau-centred care while working collaboratively across the interdisciplinary team and wider continuum of care. You will prioritise and manage your workload effectively, maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service activity and capacity management.

You will have opportunities to contribute to quality improvement, service development, research, audit and evaluation activities. You will also be supported to maintain and develop your clinical competencies through professional development, supervision, education and training. Depending on your experience, you may also contribute to the orientation and development of less experienced clinicians and students.

A strong commitment to quality and clinical risk management is important. You will work within relevant professional standards, organisational policies and ethical requirements and contribute to initiatives that improve the safety, quality and effectiveness of care.

Essential:

  • NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver safe, effective and patient- and whaanau-centred clinical care
  • Sound clinical skills and clinical reasoning appropriate to the role
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a clinical caseload effectively
  • A full drivers licence
