About the Role

Working in the residential Sub-Acute Unit, the Community Support Worker provides care, support and the best health outcomes to people under the direction and delegation of the Registered Nurse and Community Support Worker (CSW) Co-ordinator. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week on rotating shifts covering 7 days per week.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Far North Mental Health & Addictions Service team is a multi-disciplinary group that works closely together to provide culturally safe, recovery-focused support for tangata whai ora/clients and their whānau. The team collaborates with internal colleagues and external partners to maintain continuity of care and reduce the need for acute or after-hours crisis services.

About you

We are looking for people with a proven ability to engage with people, who can work as a team member and can work under supervision. You must be able to recognise the diversity of people’s culture and provide support that is culturally safe and appropriate.

  • Mental Health Level 4 Certificate or a desire to work towards it
  • Experience working in a mental health setting
  • Whilst not essential, it is highly desirable if you are working towards a Diploma in Mental Health Suport Work
  • Current, full New Zealand driver’s licence
