About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as a Community Support Worker in our Mental Health and Addictions Service in Kaikohe. You will work in the residential Sub Acute Unit providing care, support and the best health outcomes as part of a collaborative care team involving registered health clinicians. This role also provides cover for a daily medication run in the community.

About the Team/Service/Location

This role is part of the Mid-North Mental Health and Addiction Services. We are committed to the needs of whanau and hapu wellbeing to ensure both cultural and clinical excellence. Our team delivers care to our rural and coastal communities.

About you

If you possess a positive, proactive outlook and are a team player, we would love to hear from you. You must be able to recognise the diversity of people’s culture and provide support that is safe and appropriate. Previous experience working with people with mental health challenges would be an advantage. Requirements of the role include:

  • Mental Health Level 4 Certificate or a desire to work towards it
  • Current full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • Experience working in a mental health setting is desirable
  • Working towards a Diploma in Mental Health Support Work also desirable
