About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the community mental health team in North Taranaki.

Are you interested in working with adults experiencing psychological distress – making a difference in their lives and future wellbeing? Do you have a passion for mental health nursing and supporting clients through their recovery process?

Key aspects of this role are:

  • Completing mental state assessments and risk assessments
  • Building rapport with whai ora and aiding in recovery plans
  • Engaging/networking with other organizations to support whai ora
  • Engagement with the mulitdisciplinary team to promote evidence based mental health nursing practice
  • Liaising with the MDT to ensure consistent treatment.,

About you

Successful candidates must have:

  • Mental health experience.
  • Well established mental state and risk assessment skills.
  • Experience using talking therapy techniques and proven de-escalation skills.
  • A valid Annual Practicing Certificate with Nursing Council of New Zealand.
